The Inner Zones: Radiative Zone
As you know, energy from the sun is produced in the core. As the energy moves outward from the core to the radiative and convective zones. Outside the core is the Radiative Zone. Since it is not the center of the sun the temperature is cooler than the core. The temperature in the Radiative Zone is 2,500,000 degrees Celcius. That converts to 4,500,032 degrees Fahrenheit. As the name suggests, energy in the radiative zone moves from atom to atom in the form of radiation (Electromagnetic radiation).
